Celebrate 2012 Public Service Recognition Week
Posted May 7th, 2012May 6-12, 2012 is Public Service Recognition Week. Each year the first full week of May is designated as Public Service Recognition Week to honor all of the paid and volunteer public servants at the federal, state, and local levels.
At the April 26 City Council meeting, Mayor Pat Deen issued a proclamation declaring May 6-12 to be Public Service Recognition Week in Hudson Oaks and "call[ing] upon all citizens to recognize and express their appreciation for the vital contributions made daily by public employees and volunteers throughout the City of Hudson Oaks."

Public Safety Open House May 15, 2012
Posted April 23rd, 2012On Tuesday, May 15, the City of Hudson Oaks is hosting the Third-Annual Public Safety Open House to celebrate National Police Week. The event runs from 4:30-7 p.m. at the Public Safety Building (150 N. Oakridge Drive) and features:
- Hot dogs, chips and drinks served to all attendees
- Tours of the Public Safety Building
- Displays of police weapons, equipment, and vehicles
- Displays of fire trucks and equipment by Emergency Services District #3
- A chance to meet and ask questions of HOPD officers and City staff
- A bounce house
- Chances to drive SIDNE, the impaired driving simulator
- Child I.D. kit station
- Low-cost microchipping of dogs and cats belonging to Hudson Oaks residents ($20)
- A brief ceremony at 6:00 p.m. for Peace Officers Memorial Day in honor of police officers who have died in the line of duty

Safely Dispose of Expired Medications
Posted April 19th, 2012On Saturday, April 28, the Parker County Sheriff's Office is hosting a DEA Take Back initiative event. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sheriff's Office staff will accept "dry" medications at their office at 129 Hogle Street in Weatherford.
No questions will be asked; participants will not have to provide names or fill out any paperwork. They may drop off over-the-counter or prescription medications for proper disposal. Liquids, inhalers and sharps cannot be accepted at the event. This is a great way to safely dispose of old/expired medications.
