Emergency Alerts - Blackboard Connect

For emergency notifications and general callouts, the City uses a service called Blackboard Connect. You may sign up for free to receive these notifications via email, phone call, or text.

The City uses blackboard connect to notify residents of:

  • Trash and Water Utility alerts
  • Inclement Weather Closures
  • Emergency Operations & Disaster Declaration

Outdoor Warning Sirens

In case of severe weather, the City of Hudson Oaks uses outdoor warning sirens to alert residents who are outdoors to seek substantial shelter. These sirens are activated by the National Weather Service System. There are two (2) warning sirens located in the City: one is located at the Public Safety Building on 150 North Oakridge Drive and the other is located at New River Fellowship Church on E I-20 Frontage Road. If it corresponds to our area, the outdoor warning sirens will activate under the following criteria:

  • Tornado Warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS)
  • Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS)
