On behalf of the City Council, staff and appointed board members of the City of Hudson Oaks, I want to welcome you to our City website.

The City of Hudson Oaks was incorporated in 1978 by citizens who wanted to chart their own course and protect themselves from taxing entities that were moving closer and closer to their front doors through annexation. Today, their legacy and independent spirit live on through a city government that continues to provide a high level of municipal services to its citizens and businesses without levying a burdensome ad-valorem property tax. Our city budget, which today is over 4 million dollars a year, is bolstered by sales tax and managed by a professional staff with direction from a fiscally conservative city council.

Our vibrant and growing community boasts some of the most modern and high-tech government facilities in Parker County. The Hudson Oaks City Hall is a state of the art facility which has recently undergone a transformation into an ergonomically friendly and inviting environment from which our staff conducts the day-to-day operations of the city. Our city hall sits adjacent to the beautiful Gene L. Voyles Park where our new Oak Tree Canopy stage overlooks a large, grass-covered event space where we have our annual Boomin' 4th fireworks show, Craft & Cork, COHOHO Christmas electric light show and countless other smaller events that provide opportunities for people to gather and strengthen the bonds of this wonderful community.

The Hudson Oaks Police Department, which currently consists of 12 sworn law enforcement officers, share a public safety building on North Oakridge Drive with Emergency Services District No. 3 (Hudson Oaks Fire & Rescue).  This joint-use facility, owned by the City, allows for the consolidation of emergency services into one location saving tax dollars and ensuring exceptional service to citizens and visitors to Hudson Oaks.

Thanks to Hudson Oaks' sound financial position, more specifically its small debt load and healthy cash reserves, the City holds an 'AA' bond rating, making it the highest-rated agency in Parker County. We are also dedicated to fiscal transparency and have placed all of our financial information right here on this website. Our budget, expenditures, and even our checkbook are available for anyone to see.  As a sales tax dependent, full-service municipality, we are dedicated to attracting and retaining businesses that provide us with sales tax revenue and prevent the need for the implementation of a property tax.

Recruiting and retaining these businesses is a primary goal of the bi-annual Mayor's Business Forum. This roundtable gives business owners, the Mayor, and City staff the opportunity to discuss issues of importance to the business community and collaborate to address issues, solve problems, and help promote Hudson Oaks. Maintaining this close relationship between our city government and the private sector has attracted successful businesses like H.E.B., Splash Kingdom Waterpark, Urban Air Adventure Park, City Lights Movie Theatre, United Ag & Turf, Pathfinder Brewery, Freedom Powersports and Creekside at Hudson Oaks, our City's first multi-family residential mixed-use development.  Hudson Oaks is also the corporate headquarters of Nextlink, an up and coming fiber optics internet company.

The City of Hudson Oaks deeply values long-range planning. In 2012, we adopted our award-winning Comprehensive Plan and set into motion the strategic vision of our residents and business leaders. This Comprehensive Plan will be periodically reviewed and updated as the City grows and changes. During open forums, we ask our residents and business leaders to give their direct input as to the direction of our City and their vision for the future.

The City of Hudson Oaks will continue to focus on our top priorities: Providing a safe community for our citizens and businesses, aggressively pursuing sales tax generating, commercial development and continually seeking ways to improve the quality of life for our residents. I am humbled and privileged to be the mayor of such a dynamic, forward-thinking city. May God continue to bless us as we work together to maintain the strong sense of community that Hudson Oaks was founding on decades ago.
