On August 22, the 2020 fiscal year budget for the City of Hudson Oaks was approved by our city council. I would like to thank our city staff for all the hard work they have put into preparing this budget. For the 42nd consecutive fiscal year, we have honored the legacy of our founders by not levying a burdensome ad-valorem property tax on our residents and businesses. The City of Hudson Oaks will continue to guarantee excellent city services without the need for a property tax. By not having a property tax, it has allowed new and existing businesses to flourish in our economic environment. These businesses have blessed us with an increase in sales tax revenue. This sales tax revenue is being invested in projects that are beautifying our city and community, improving the quality of life for our residents every day, while also making the city more inviting to visitors who come here to shop, eat, and play.

A few examples of some finished projects are the US-180 middle median project and the IH-20 beautification project. These projects were completed several years ago and are now showing signs of maturing trees, flowers, and vegetation. Also, the lighted 'Hudson Oaks' stone sign welcomes people to our city every day. These projects have added a wonderful aesthetic feel to the city, and the new upcoming projects will continue to do so as well. The City of Hudson Oaks is continuing this beautification process by re-surfacing roads in our residential areas and adding lighted metal way-finder signs in front of our neighborhoods. So far, these signs can be seen as you enter the residential areas of Red Eagle, Diamond Oaks, and Parker Oaks. These beautiful and modern signs are the first of many way-finder signs that Hudson Oaks plans to install around the city.

Please let us know how we're doing, and if you have an idea of how we may beautify Hudson Oaks or improve your experience, even more, drop us a line…we'd love to hear from you!
